The magic show went off without a hitch this morning! We learned more about life cycles of bugs and got lots of laughs in as well. Thank you for supporting this fun experience for your child! Here are a couple pics!
Yesterday, we welcomed Mr. Peek (Mrs. Granger's dad) into our classroom to learn about Veteran's Day and his experiences in the military. The students were captivated by the treasures and stories he had to share and they were able to ask their many questions. This week we are taking time to honor all veterans and show our gratitude. Below are a couple pictures I was able to snap.
Dear First Grade Families,
I have a few housekeeping items to share!
~Liz We had a great time cheering on fellow classmates that were top earners from the Fun Run! Thanks to all who supported Woodland by fundraising for this event! Your support is greatly appreciated!
Fun Run Victory Lap Video First Day of School
The first day of school Can be hard for Mom and Dad. Part of you feels excited, The other part feels sad. For many years you've held their hand, And have been their loving guide. Now you know the time has come To leave them by my side. But it is only for a little while, As your child will learn and grow. And at the end of everyday, They will share with you all they know. So as you walk away Don’t worry anymore. I'll take care of all those precious gifts When you leave them at my door. Our family is happy to introduce our newest member, Benjamin "Benny" Christopher Housman. He was born on May 6th weighing 7lbs 9oz and was 19 1/2 in long. Thank you for all of your well wishes! :) We are over the moon for our boys and enjoying our family time together!
In case you weren't able to make it (sorry about the sideways video...not the best view!)...
We had an absolutely fabulous day at the Children's Museum yesterday! The day went by so fast and we were all exhausted by the end of the day...a sign of a successful field trip! ;) Thank you for supporting these special learning opportunities. Here are some picture highlights of our day!
We are only half way to our food drive goal!!! In order for Mrs. Beckler to get a pie in the face we still need to bring in 500 items by Friday! That is less than one per person. Bring in those items or Mrs. Beckler escapes pie free. That would be quite a shame ;).
Next week will be a short, but exciting week! We have tons of fun activities planned that celebrate reading and Dr. Seuss! Here are some of the fun things we have planned:
*read as many Dr. Seuss books as we have time for *learn about the real author behind Dr. Seuss *create several class books to add to our classroom library *create and observe Oobleck for a science experiment *celebrate our uniqueness by creating an "I am I" art and writing project *create our own fun and silly "seussical" words *read in the dark with flashlights (Thursday) Bring on the reading fun! ~Mrs. Housman |
