Thank you for sending in your conference scheduling preferences! I did my best to accommodate your first choices, while trying to make sure siblings get back to back conferences. Your child brought home a conference confirmation today. Please sign and return the confirmation letting me know you plan to attend. The time slots are tight, so please try to arrive on time and I'll try my best to stick to the schedule so nobody runs behind. Your first grader is welcome to attend conferences with you and participate in reporting their progress. If you are unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible so we can reschedule.
Your child also brought home a letter about a decision that was made about looping at Woodland. Please read the letter thoroughly so you are aware of the difficult, yet careful steps our Woodland community took to make this decision.
Tomorrow, your child will bring home a letter about Valentine's Day. First grade has opted to have a relaxing Valentine themed movie in our classrooms due to a jam packed week. Blanket making (volunteers invited), and the 100th day also fall that week, but we certainly plan to celebrate it all. Your child may partake (though optional) in decorating a valentine box and providing store bought treats for members of our classroom community. We have 24 students in our class. Before and during our movie, students will celebrate together by handing out their valentines. The letter will have names on the back so your child may label their valentine, which will make it easier for them to hand out. If you opt out of this activity, a bag will be provided for your child to decorate and collect valentines from other students. We will have other volunteer opportunities available and will always send home a volunteer form when extra help is needed.
Sending warm thoughts your way....
Mrs. Housman
